I absolutely loved this book! I finished it in one day because I couldn't put it down. I read the last line with a smile on my face. Karen had an amazing way of drawing you into the story and falling in love with the characters. It had a wonderful ending but the book went in directions I wasn't expecting - in a good way. When I first started reading it I had many idea's of what I thought would happen or where the book would go but it was way more beautiful and touching than I expected it to be. It was a great tale of the goodness, love, kindness, and humility people still have in their hearts and I LOVED it. I highly recommend this book.Product details

I consumed The Makeover in a short summer weekend. The perfect feel-good read. It's all about relationships - personal and professional - but most importantly the relationship we have with ourself. Pre-conceived notions of who we are don't necessarily hold true. It takes a major game-changing set of circumstances for the star of this tale to find her real self. Adored the Michigan connection. Karen Buscemi does a super job of stripping away our low opinion of Camellia to cheering on her unexpected gynormous heart!
I was about to delete this about half way. Camilla is so mean and self centered and unlikable I had all I could take. But I don't like to start and not finish so I pressed on and I'm glad I did. Now looking forward to the next Camilla book!
For anyone who grew up or vacationed in small town Michigan, this book is a must! Karen Buscemi does a wonderful job of capturing the heart and lives of the residents of this area, as well as the fish-out-of-water experience of someone new to the area. A fun combination of fashion, grit and friendship, this book is a delight. I've given copies to my mom and a few friends already, and will definitely continue to recommend it to others!

When I got this story I didn't think I would like it and it certainly wasn't my usual love story, but it was great in a way I would never have expected.
I liked all the players and was sorry to be left behind at the end of the book - I'm going to miss them.
Very nice to read a novel with believable characters and storyline. It's very sad to realize that I'm totally conditioned to read a book expecting the man to leave the woman and that's where the pickup begins from. How surprised was I when I kept waiting and waiting and waiting. . . .
When I started this book, I couldn't figure out why someone would write about such an awful person. Shortly into the book, though, she undergoes an amazing change, and I enjoyed reading about her turning into a nice, thoughtful person. Very enjoyable!
